OMG!! I loved this game but it always lacked the Mech Commander vibe... Can this mod bring some of it back?? Will have to reinstall and see.

I just want a Trek game that is more like the Starfleet Command (1,2,3) series. Where I control a solitary ship and manage all of its subsystems. That gives more of a film/tv vibe. As most of the time full scale war was not the focal point of engagements. Bridge Commander is pretty close, but I liked the SFC series a little bit better. I wonder if there are any other titles out there that offer a good trek mod to give that sorta vibe?

Make a news series for this that gives a weekly update, it'll be so cool!

If a new Empire at War game came out, I would want it to focus on what makes EaW and Forces of Corruption good, and make that better; similar to what modders already do. The only amount of 4X style strategy I'd want is caps on particularly large or otherwise special units, thus making me decide how to build my fleets and armies. If we were to get a Star Wars 4X game, I don't want it to be named EaW. EaW is not 4X. Slapping the EaW name onto something completely different is just using a name for clout.

I'd like a remake with alot of QOL improvements that you'd expect from a modern RTS/4X game. I wish there was a "fuel" mechanic in this game, where you could only have ships darting amongst planets for so long before they had to stop and refuel at a space station, due to not having enough reserves to make another jump. Some planets could even provide a bonus to this mechanic through cheaper/faster refueling, due to the planet being specialised as a fuel resource-rich planet

Always fun to see the mod played! Gotta say, not to diminish shack's victory the AI just really didn't seem to know what it was doing lol. Multiple times it'd get units in melee then just turn them around to get shot to pieces, or having cultists shoot their lil dinky pistols rather than close the gap; felt like a total stomp. Regardless love the content Shack!

Yes, i know its an absurdly long post, its just my thoughts on a game idea involving shacks idea of more logistical control. Read if interested. I like the idea of more detailed control over logistics. Just not in an empire at war game. Say instead have a separate game where the player is in charge of a mercenary company in the outer rim. At first you start off small where your flag ship is an old clone wars ship like an acclamator frigate or munnificent frigate. First few missions would be tutorial stuff with the last one being a choice of which major faction you side with (imperial, rebel, black sun, hapes). In choosing which faction you want to ally with opens up specific tech trees from that specific faction but being a mercenary company you can still purchase less advanced tech the other factions use. For example siding with the empire you could still purchase x wings, nebulon b's, t2-b's, etc. but being on the empires payroll you get access to everything up to ATAT'S and ISD's. The flag ship you have is determined by which faction the player sides with so ISD for empire, lucrehulk for black sun, battle dragon for the hapes, and an mc80 for the rebels. The only ship you would have direct control over modifications is your flagship, everything from cosmetics to specific power generators, weapon and technical systems, hull plating, engines, etc. The way i see a game like this working out is the entire thing taking place from the command deck/bridge of your flag ship. Fleet battles would be mostly autonomous with the player being able to change basic fleet formations fighter/bomber deployments, and order specific targets from a holomap table if the player feels they need to intervene. This said, there is a perfect opportunity to introduce a "board enemy vessel" command so the player can call permanent dibs on any enemy ship except flagship class vessels giving the player an opportunity to aquire tech and equipment theyd normally be locked out of. As for ground combat i think it would work similarly to how empire at war functions but a more detailed system on base building, being able to set up base walls to establish a perimeter, choose turret emplacements, what facilities the base would have like trade hubs for income, factories for vehicle production, barracks for infantry, etc. As for space defenses the faction you are allied with would build up to a tier 2 defense station for free while your fleet is in orbit but if you think it should have better defense you have to pay out of pocket to upgrade it, locking your fleet in the system to guard its construction which would cause your forces to lose out on defense contracts in other systems until the construction is completed. Also being a mercenary company there would be random events where the other factions would try to offer the player a better deal to defect losing everything except your flagship where you get the option to keep it or trade it in for that factions flagship and all upgrades are transferred over.

If you want them to actually DO something you will have to put them on something other then passive. Passive mean do nothing. If your not going to do that then stop crying over them not doing anything.

You know what with the last of the Homeworld games out ( I think is the last) I want to see a series show of Homeworld from start to finish just like the Robotech Macross series.
